Not here you don't. Try it and you'll go straight to the sinbin or be banned completely.

You are asking for help. It is only polite to post in an understandable manner if you want to receive that help, and insulting those who try does not assist your cause.

Honestly, you dont really need 1800W just because your speaker is rated 900W.

100W is more than enough for most home-listening, 900W would blow the roof of your house.

Get more easy driven and efficient speakers and you could get away with a pretty cheap solution using a chip-amp or a solid state amp, that sound good.

this is the cheapest reliable amp to consider (from experience), building such a monster at home is not so much fun, you will probably spend a lot of money with no good result

re power - in case this is meant for pa, the 900W speaker should get some 1200W in amp capacity; anyway what kind of speakers do you have? 900W/15" is a little bit stressed, it would have to have 4inch voice coil at least to take such power without stress

Hi shadiedog87,
Please understand that you need to post using real punctuation, starting each sentence with capitals. Use your spell check also.

You have education, so you are aware that you are only as intelligent as your posts indicate to the rest of us. Posting as a text message will not help you in your job or public forums. It's true.

So, you think you need an 1,800 watt amplifier. Think, your AC outlet will only deliver 1,800 watts assuming a full 120 VAC at your transformer primary. Already optimistic. Most amplifiers are less than 50 % efficient. A class D design might make 80 %. So right there you can see your goal is not possible. That was only one channel.

Members are asking you for more details so they can figure out what you truly need in the way of power. Sound quality comes in also and that is where we need to know your anticipated use. There may be other ways of approaching your design. For instance, what sound pressure level are you attempting to attain? It is very probable that you have the wrong speaker.

If you want to get silly SPL in your house, buy a pair of Klipsch K-horns or LaScalas. Feed them to something like a Carver TFM-55X and prepare to buy drivers and hearing aids. Possibly new plates and glasses too. The fines from noise complaints will eventually curb your desire for excessive SPL in your home.

I am trying to be serious and have you examine what your goals really are.

I have followed this thread from the beginning (before a few posts were deleted by Pinkmouse)...... and have refrained myself from making posts here. But, this I have to say, "Elegantly said, Chris." Nothing irritates more than cryptic, hard to understand texts and no punctuation, all in the name of so-called "speed".....djk's post may be a bit rude (sorry djk), but I have to admit what djk said is true. Ahem.... Case commented.

This thread is a waste of time. I don't think the original poster has a clue about what he needs.

Yes. It's already seen two posts off to Texas and a third (as far as I know) outright deleted.
The "texting" seems to be a Pavlovian trigger.

And there were 3 threads with the same name in Pass Labs, Chip Amps and Class D as well (Class D one is still alive 'n' kicking).

I'm interested from the point of view of finding out the drivers that he's got. That'll give an indication of what advice to give regarding amplification. At the moment I don't even know if they're to be used for full-range, subwoofer or guitar. The "clip-speak" seems to apply to the information given also...

Hi, djk, that's why I said "so-called"...... As I said, I have to admit that you are right.... I used (and still is, to a certain extent) to be blunt also in my verbal communication, but years of trying to fit in the general society have mellowed me, a bit. We call it "diplomacy".... whatever it means.

Actually, I want to jump in right after your deleted post and say a few "nice" phrases from my mind, but the "diplomacy" in me told me to wait and see.....

No offence intended, djk..... cheers..... Pity you are too far away, otherwise it would be nice to have a few pints of the cold, bubbly, yellow elixir with you.

the drivers are an off brand they were cheap. theyre for home stereo the coil is standad surprised when i got it because they sounded so big. I guess i could go with a smaller amp but i have 2 of them and would like them to thump. and i had a post in pass labs and chip amp and others but kept getting redirected till class d amps and solid state there was little info on them i just bought them brand new heard big #'s n little price so couldnt loose but still never got to here them bang. 1.8kW`total so how big should i go n maybe 900W is the max not to sure i've been into electronics since i was a kid and stuck to it sry for the lingo but when i type on the computer its like a dif' language lol. im def' a newbie building small things as small crossovers n converters but i dont know how to make anything from scratch i need schematics and info like lables R1=1.5k R2=3.4k ect.
