I have to agree with a few of the above posts. Tubelab's Simple SE is a great choice. While you have to acquire some of the parts yourself, George offers part numbers for Digikey, Mouser and Allied. There is a lot of info on his site to help you choose your poison and he is always available via email to help.
George is also working on a P-P amp design. I don't know how far along he is or when it will be available. He had mentioned it may be available sometime this fall/winter. I personally plan to build one when it is available.
One thing I have noticed about George is how helpful he is to beginners and how well he supports his designs.
