How about this?
I want to do the same thing, but want to try to do it on the cheap. I want a 12v portable one, so need a rechargable battery in there. I looked at the AMP6 kit, but found a pre built amp using the same chip that is cheaper.
lepai ta2020, great deals on Electronics on eBay!

hi guys, i'm also absolutely new to building a guitar amp but i want to build one now to accompany my new electric guitar.
i have a few chips lying around.. OPA2132 and LM3886 included. would this be good for a preamp and poweramp respectively? It'd be good to be able to make an amp out of the stuff i already have.
also, what kind of speakers can I use? and is a cabinet necessary? I've only built headphone amps so far :S

Hey there. I have been recently very into diy guitar stuff and have been wanting to build a guitar amp as well. Since I am only in high school and have a limited budget, what kind, if any, do you recommend? I have no prior electrical knowledge and a very limited knowledge of schematics. please help me
