In another thread ( http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=40634#post40634 ) where you pointed out that STK4048XI is "the best", rljones describes his experiments with several TDA7293 in parallel. He reaches quite high power levels without a too high distortion.

It doesn't come much more simple than that.
