It is the amp design that I described before; pentode with nested feedbacks. I used this time TV output sweep tubes, and a TV double pentode (compactron) as a driver, to get them in a single bottle. 8.6V filament is convenient; rectifying 6.3V filament voltage I got 8.6V for DC filament of an input tube, so there is no hum that I would hear when my ear is in the speaker cone.

2 years later I come with an improved version, Edelweiss-3. Unlike Edelweiss-2 it has 3 nested feedback loops, for better control of woofers. The result is, damping factor is better than solid state amps with a dozen of paralleled output transistors have.

Jumping right to it!
With the amp pushing my La Scalas, 106dB efficient speakers, the amp never struggled. It just did everything right. Nice control, full soundstage, never fatiguing. That can be tough with horns. Detail can be fatiguing with some amps, but not with the Edelweiss-3
Jazz had a great sound, and female vocals were just WOW! Classic rock had a good sound but the amp really showed what it could do on Jazz and delicate passages. Being able to hear an acoustic guitar string being plucked is an awesome thing to hear along with fingers sliding on strings, or that breath being taken between words. The amp does a really good job of bringing out the best of folk/indie music as well. It is hard to explain an amp allowing emotion to come through but the Edelweiss-3 just lets it spill out and fills the room!
Bass is controlled and full while staying accurate and balanced. An amp that has balanced detail will always make you want to stay in the room and listen to music excessively late. It becomes engaging and has you jumping through your music collection wanting to hear how "that one song sounds". I love that feeling. Knowing you should go to bed but the music...
You should know to get this type of experience with this amp you need efficient speakers. I have some Decware speakers that are great speakers but a bit less efficient. They are 94 dB and still sound great with the amp but the soundstage starts to suffer from heavy rock music or congested passages. You can tell the amp is running out of steam. It never sounds bad though. This is due to Anatoliys ability to cause the amp to clip softly. This is at an extreme level but should be mentioned if you like death metal and like your ears to bleed. Then this might not be the amp for you. The Decware speakers did sound amazing as usual at moderate levels or acoustic/folk/indie style of music being driven by the Edelweiss-3.
Summing-up:
What a brilliant amp aimed at bringing out the magic of recordings. I know the amp has been tweaked some after the prototype and should be able to handle speakers in the 94 dB range without issue now. When paired with speakers near the 100 dB range in efficiency it has more than enough power and should have you tapping your foot and listening to anything but country music. Nothing can make country sound good even the Edelweiss-3. Oh, who am I kidding it would probably make country music sound good as well. I designed also an integrated version of the amp, on bigger chassis, with better transformers, 4 pairs of input sockets, and an input selector. This version has only 1 pair of outputs, per order: 4, 6, 8, or 16 Ohm.
One more version of the amp, for high-end headphones, 6W on 32 Ohm output. The amp can drive any high end planar magnetic headphones, it has enough of juice for them. Output are TRS and 4-pin XLR. Also, low level TRS input for ordinary headphones (800 mW on 16 Ohm), and auxilary 16 Ohm speaker outputs on the rear panel.
