I tried the Arizona company and they have not returned emails or calls
. I need to get some socks for the Model 3's. Any suggestions? Maybe make my own, but seaming it on the back might give me a fit. Ideas?

I read a comparison of different brands of Spandex on the DIY screen forum here. I think the winner would be more acoustically transparent than the Acoustat material. I got several samples - nice colors - dark green, dark purple, maroon, etc. And I too would not be able to sew - would have to have a pro seamstress do it.
since the "socks" are sewn only on one seam, they're very easy to make.
also you can consider other "means" for fastening them on the sides. heresy to some, but these are older speakers, so no big deal. If you do that, then you can use two cut, flat pieces to do the job.

I made dark blue Spandex socks for my 2+2 and they are far superior to the stock socks both in looks and acoustic transparency. Every person who has seen them says they look way better, & they are definitely less muffled sounding.
If you go down to a fabric store and just hold up whatever fabric "looks good" you will find spandex has just about the best open structure when viewed at different angles to the light.
Many other fabrics that might look nice have severe attenuation of the light when angled in comparison.
The best is none, but severe WAF!

It's best when used at a roughly 2:1 stretch. That is, if the speaker frame is 30" x 6" you'd want to have the fabric be about 36" wide. Same applies to the height. The end result will be semi-transparent, to where if you can just slightly see the panel grid. Stretched spandex has a nice, subtle sheen to it. Every woman who has seen both my blue spandex covers & the old off-white has far preferred the spandex. If I did it again I'd sand the frames for better smoothness & paint them a color similar to the new covers for better uniformity, but it's quite alright the way they are.
I am going over to joann fabrics to check the fabric out. What is the easy and quick way to discharge? Good day to work on them and have to remove the lower staples.
Here's the AVSForum acoustic transparency test of different "Spandex" type materials:

I hadn't realized there were substantially different types of Spandex, but that test appears to show the attenuation of the fabric in its relaxed state. I am pretty confident that if each type were stretched to the point of semi-transparency (visually) they would be very much the same in audio terms. Still, good to be aware that there isn't just one type of Spandex.
Also, in terms of WAF, it's an opportunity to let her pick out the fabric and keep things civil. There is a dizzying array of colors, patterns, and prints available.
