Anyone else have problems with having not a lot but too many vehicle amps?not trying to boast or brag i just have issues. i want them all, like my wife has shoes. like that lady who loves cats so much she balled her eyes out on youtube! from autotek to zapco i have tons of amps. share your story how and if you cured this addiction.

Mate, have this problem with audio gear in general. List of car amps in storage (all new or near new):

JL Audio 1000/1 V2
JL Audio 450/4 V2
JL Audio 300/4 V2
JL Audio 300/2 V2
Helix A4
Helix Power Station XXL

Am curing this addiction by not buying anything new until I use up or sell what I have. Already sold 2x JL audio G4500 and 1x JL Audio G1700. Whatever doesn't make it into my next build has to goooo.

How about u overloard?

sqftw: that is a good idea to use up what you have before you buy more. my problem is i have enough amps to build at least 5 or 6 more systems but not enough vehicles lol. like i will come across these good deals and would be hard to pass up. just came across a lanzar 2500 for $100USD in VGC. just picked up a hifonics hercules vii for $60. now i have 2 of them. month before that i picked up a autotek mxi330 for $100. i have 3 sets of hifonics american warrior series. need 1 more eagle to make a 4th set. funny thing is i found for $70. i think its more of a thrill for the hunt to find these amps for dirt cheap.

If you have any of the older ZED amps, you need to pull the covers and see if there is any electrolyte leaking around the capacitors, especially those on the power supply end of the board. The electrolyte will destroy the board. You don't have to replace the caps if you're not going to use the amp but they need to be removed if leaking. Start a new thread if you have questions about this.

I guess there is a fine line between a hoarder and a collector!

The collector side knows what you mean the thrill of the hunt. The hoarder side finds it hard to throw or sell things. I am slowly getting rid of things I'm not using. I sold 3 mice on ebay in the last few months lolz...still have 4...

Perhaps you could make an excuse to use some of them? Make a home audio amp rack? Restore the outside and have them on display while powering your home audio speakers? Its a real shame that they are not getting used.

thanks Perry for chiming in, your wisdom is noted. i do have more zed built amps and i will be recapping them. randy0050 please do tell, no judgement here. i tell my wife at least i am not out drinking or doing drugs and i only like zed a bit more then her lol. sqftw: i horde but only to the point what amplifiers i cant part with. who doesn't like a nice mouse. Logitech g500 ftw! although i just picked up a havic magic eagle mouse that i have to say for the price is amazing. i do have a lanzar 6200 i plan on making into a home stereo. I have been hinting to my wife i would like to dedicate a wall to hang them up on. i may be pushing my luck on that idea.
