Too late now but what about "leaning spokes" pattern, like the lines on this AER driver.
they are hard to see here but you get the idea.

Mike, from the photo shown, and some posted elsewhere by Bud Purvine re his EnaAbl mods on to Lowthers (gutsy move!), I think it's fairly clear that the triangular patterns are actually another laminated layer of paper on the main and whizzer cones.

The real experts can describe what they think this contributes to the drivers' performance, but I'd suspect it's different from any of the cone modifications we've seen discussed here.
 
no not the triangle zigzag pattern near the middle. I mean out on the main cone. there are some embossed or raised ridges in the cone that run from the near centre outward at an angle, a bit like this:
