I have 5 spare channels--What do I do with them?

I just picked up a Pioneer VSX-D498 receiver for $10. The bad news is that it is broken, the Surround sound processing is dead on the unit--however the unit has a 5 channel direct in and it that works just fine. I figure that in all odds I will not be able to sell it for much seeing that it only half works.

So here is the question---I have Five 80 Watt channels and I would like some suggestions on how I can use it in my current HT (Which is 7.1 with a better receiver already driving them). My current idea is to use the five channels to drive five bass shakers, I am just seeking any other suggestions as to what do with this excess power or other fun projects I could use in my HT with these extra channels.

p.s. The unit is rated down to 6Ohm--So I think I should be able to push it to 4ohm if I keep the volume down, right? I really have no experence with pioneer stuff.

What a coincidence. Last month I blew up an amp that was using Pioneer chips. The chips died without even turning the thermal paste brown--a pretty poor showing. If you ask me, I say those chips have a glass jaw.

In any case, that's a useful thing to have around, 5 channels of amplification rated to 6 ohms... though I wouldn't buy 80 watts for a second... Consider using it for an intercom system, maybe?

Dp you have any need for a new sound system for your computer? I've been trying to plan a system like that for myself (wanting 4 channels for gaming, but of a quality sufficient to listen to music at least in the front pair) and a few channels of inexpensive amplification would come in VERY handy to match a set of compact homemade speakers to replace the usual crap "multimedia speaker system".
