I'm curious how sound level works?
Does it have a built-in microphone? Do you add your own external mic?
I also notice that the sound level frequency response is only 100hz to 8khz. That might be good for general sound levels, but not for detailed testing.
Is that limited by the internal mic and can it be improved by adding an extremal mic?
Still, it's a sweet meter for a very modest price.

it has a microphone built into the bottom
There is a microphone, Light meter, temptature/ humidity I will bet some one around here will figure a way to tweek it to take a microphone sooner or later. That also bring up an interesting subject who can tell us how to make a califrated spl measuring microphone up 40khz that will work with it

Circuit Specialists has a very similar meter for around $43. On top of that they throw in a (even cheaper) meter for free if your order is over $50 and you ask for it.
5 in 1 meter
While very cheap, not super accurate, and not auto ranging, the free meter is somewhat useful as it measures hFE and temp, and has 4V AC range with 1 mV resolution.
