DUDE!

It's funny. I was just thinking "I wonder if anyone else has picked up the same panel as I have?" And then I found your message.

I really like the panel. It's got great response time, good color(600 thousand). Lacks a little in contrast, but only noticable in dark scenes.

Did you get the manual/remote with your panel? I can't get the composite video in to work on my panel(only VGA, which is what I'm using anyway), and I'm hoping the manual might describe how it's done. I got telex to send me a spec sheet for the panel with stuff like operating temperature, response times, etc. If you're interested I can try and dig it up and scan it in.

yeah

YAHH, im soooo glad someone has the same one. Sounds like i made a good decision, I thought the colors might be lacking because it isnt 1mill or higher. I dont have it yet, it should be here tomorrow or monday. I think it comes with everything, I hope like hell i can get the composite to work, thats one of the main reasons im buying it. PS2 would look pretty cool that big. Oh yeah and send the spec sheet if it isnt to much trouble.

Thanks!

There's a "video src" button on the panel and when i hit it nothing happens. If I only have composite video going into it it flashes all it's lights which is what it does when there is no signal present at all.

But, I removed the top layer of glass from the unit tonight(it just protects the LCD, but there is enough space between them that you can see some reflection and halo-ing) and just watched minority report. it was awesome. 🙂 As far as the color thing is concerned, 600k seems to be enough for me. It actually seems to do some color dithering(mabye of the shades it can't directly reproduce), but it works quite well- I barely notice it.

I'll see if I can remember to find that spec sheet tomorrow and OCR it for ya.

Uvodee-

With this LCD there is the actual LCD itself, along with a glass piece above and below it. The spacing of these glass pieces is about 3/4" away from the LCD. So when there's say... a mouse pointer in a corner of the screen, You can see it from the LCD, and you can also see it's reflection in the upper piece of glass. It was simple enough to remove, as it was just held down with adhesive-sponge-rubber stuff. I just have to be extra careful not to scratch the LCD. My contrast in bright scenes is improved noticeably. Now to paint all my walls dark grey.. 🙂

Haven't forgotten about the sheet poohbear- just pressed for time. 🙂

Negative Design: I was lucky enough to find mine locally. I was bidding on an infocus panel all day one day when i saw this thing on a local newsgroup. Lucky me, no shipping! 🙂

yeah

yeah, dont worry about it, im still supposed to send people pics from months ago.. i suck.. i procrastinate soo much. So i understand, and also the words on it will most likely not make much sense to me. but yeah, hopefully it will be here tomorrow, if not i will cry.

I have ? on this panel.

The panel only does thousand's of color's but can you still set your desk top color to 32bit with this panel and still have it work ?

I know I have played a game demo not too long ago, that you had to have your color set to 32bit, so even if the panel can't display 32bit, can you set it to that so you can run 32bit stuff ?

I just purchased this model on Ebay last week. What a great panel. For my fellow Nova Scotian, Axeman, I may have the answer to your question about the composite Video.

Did you get the manual/remote with your panel? I can't get the composite video in to work on my panel(only VGA, which is what I'm using anyway), and I'm hoping the manual might describe how it's done.

The M2X Manual in my hands describes as follows;
QUOTE]The video in jack is installed on all models of the M2X; however, it is only active when the video option is installed.[/QUOTE]
To check if it is installed, plug in the VCR or other video souce to the composite plug and press VID SRC on the M2X keypad to select either the computervideo or the composite video from the VCR.If the option isn't installed I guess the VCR ignal won't be picked up.
Now to my problem.I have the MAC VGA cables instead of the IBM and need the pinout for the IBM VGA cables.
Also, anyone needing info from the manual, just ask.

Composite video

Hey Axeman, I just recieved an M2X complete with manual. As to your problem with the video source, the manual says
the video in jack is installed on all models of the M2X, however, it is only active when the video option is installed.

Now to my problem. The exact opposite of yours. I need an IBM VGA cable for mine, as it only has MAC cables. Does anyone have the pinout for the IBM VGA cable.

Hey you guys, whats the power supply on the Mx2 look like, do any of you have the pinouts/ pictures of it, or any other of its in/outputs. also to those whom have the manual, is there any way you could photocopy it and send it to me, Id be willing to pay. thanks again

hey spark thanks for the Link back to this thread, I couldnt for the life of Me find it, As for the VGA cable Use any Old vga cable, thats what I did and It works fine hope this helps, Yea Im gonna take the glass off tonight and clean it at the verry least and mabe try and vacume Lightly the LCd surface.

Follow up the actual VGA cable thats " made for the telex sucks" Telex made a Mac and a VGA panel, However the Mac one looks a lot like ( Connecter wise) as the VGA one So if you try and use the telex VGA cable on the mac telex( you still followng me?) it wont work, for some crazy reason they are like Milimeters off, So I tries just a reg old VGA cable and it works fine, I assume it just dosent use some pins. Hope this helps someone out Now or later on In this boards life. L8er:nod:
