Hi,
I own a Cairn Ecrin CD player, the CD transport is a Philips CDM12.1 with a tray loader L1210/11, the laser is dead for sure. The player has a good DAC board and nice power supply board in working conditions. See attached pictures.
I would like to make use of the DAC, the source will be a Logitech Squeezebox Classic or SB3 which has a SPDIF output.
I have no schematic of the CD player. On its DAC board I can see a CS8412 (receiver), a SM5813APT (filter), 2 PCM63P (DAC chips), 2 OPA2604AP (op amp)and transistors for output stage.
I have some knowledge on DAC but not enough to do what I would like to do on this project. Help to get me started on this project will be much appreciated,
Vince,

Hi,
Any chance that connecting spdif output of the squeezebox to pins 9,10 of the CS8412 I will get music at the analog output at the Cairn DAC board ? It would be great.
Thanks for your reply,

yes, you probably would. be sure to disconnect the old input at 9,10 and use the resistor+capacitors from the schematic above.
