Hi All ;

As I finished my active two way sealed monitor, now I am ready to build a reasonable active subwoofer (stereo) to implement it. My measurements show that the sealed monitor do not have much bass below 120hz. So my aim is to have flattish musical bass from 30hz to 120hz.

I am using a passive line level XO and my filters are ready. (I may add a speaker level lowpass to prevent midrange leakage from the sub)

Now I found 4 x 15 inch Pyle woofers lw1540 for a reasonable cost. What is the best way to make a sub out of them? I have very little experience on making a sub.

Should I do a sealed one or an isobaric?
Please help

What about this:

PS: place the terminus nearest the floor level and the drivers above, this would require 3 bends.

b,

many thanks, that's a very good response. But I think folded horn (I think your design is a folded horn) and 308 liters internal volume is way beyond my abilities and my target for volume.

I want to keep below 200 liters and as it will be mating 4.5 inch mid/bass driver in a small closed box, I thin I need slower rollover in the upper end.

Perhaps I should go with a simple closed box or slot loaded 2 driver sub per channel, nothing fancy..
