I don't know about the newer ones so I guess this doesn't necessarily apply, but the older NHT's had just lovely response, sooo smooth and natural..
and how do you know "(VERY gently used)"?

Imaging is virtually 100% the result of the speakers, so changing out electronics etc. is not going to help. (The room and setup is a factor, but not the main one.) Reviews in magazines won't help either as they are always positive. Basically if the speakers don't image well then they most likely never will. Look to correcting your mistake next time.
this. ime, when a speaker image badly, there will be other shortfalls.
but when a speaker image beautfifully, normally the sound of the speakers is at least good.
I have a pair of NHT VT-2's and I don't even have them placed properly(sitting in my basement next to a 60" big screen TV and lots of stuff around them)🙂
After reading the original poster's comments,I was prompted to go down stairs
and listen to them using a Luxman R-117 receiver to power them and I must say, I did not find any problems with their imaging at all. A very smooth, articulate speaker. No regrets having them. I would not sell mine for sure!😱
