You can see that the cols are quite near mounted to each other. We do not measure any real influence between the two amps.

What are the 470uF caps you are nowadays using on the UcD400? The ones look to have a blue sleeve. That output filter cap also looks like something different then normally used.

Nothing special, the two photos are from prototypes. The UcD402 is planned for a subwoofer/bassgitar amplifier. No need for any sofisticated audiophile rated components..... 😉

If we for a second forget the price of the Hypex modules, we are talking about very high performance. They do nothing wrong and the coherent play style make us addictive to this amp. If you take the price into account the "value-for-money" is extremely high.

Although the UcD400 under review was one of the first version, we have done some interesting audiophile improvement with all newer revisions. In reliability and measurments performance is nothing changed, this was already quite ok.... 😉

According to the manufacturer, they still use ICEpower modules and have product/s currently in development that will use new ICEpower modules that have now been released.
Is there any merit in buying DIY modules, mounting them in a case with some simple hardware and selling such a product as if it was some ultra-sophisticated audiophile thing?
Such manufacturers are not actually manufacturers but bare amateurs without a clue about circuit design finding their way to earn big money.
It's all a load of B.S. They will be bare amateurs until they become able to develop their own high performance class D stuff from scratch.

I think it's OK to buy highly advanced modules and package them, nothing wrong with that. It takes some skills to marketing also, not everyone are made for that.

I've also read the glowing UCD review from TNT. I'm clueless when it comes to sand electronics but this caught my interest... I see that it uses an Opamp (from various makers as option) input buffer, but the Analog-Research website above states that they use a Lundahl Input Transformer (switchable taps) then a Jfet buffer. The question is if anyone tried to do a something similar with Input Trafo but Tube buffer (if possible)? Making it sort of a hybid amp?
BTW, I saw this output cap (custom Auricap) upgrade for Ucd400/700 recently:

.. but I think any radial leaded polyprop/foil type cap will be a good replacement if it has he same lead spacing as the stock one w/ the approp V rating. no self-respecting manufacturers would do that.
However, Class D is a gold-rush now and if foolish people want to part with their money so eagerly, who are we to stop that?

However, in the past, Class D operation was not regarded as being worthy of audiophile consideration. With the new generation of Class D amplifier modules, they now are a serious option for audiophiles. We are pleased to be among the first to produce products using these new technologies
peranders, did you test UcD400 with factory dead time pot position? I've tested UcD400 1-1.5 year ago, and they gave same THD as in the review, but not at factory position.
