Have a great time on the slopes. No need to worry about us fools. We can wait until wk 18 or beyond if necessary. Heck, waited this long for them to be back in stock...
Did you know that the highest mountain in Holland is 7 meters below sea level....?
I am waiting for the rest of the joke...
Even if you only count the European part of the Netherlands, Vaalserberg is still 322.7 metres (1,059 ft)above sea level.
Or maybe in Denmark? 😛

StigErik,
I guess that you have been measuring dutch mountains too?...
😀

No, I think it was StigErik's subjective assessment 🙂
Let´s say that there definitely seems to be different opinions

Beat this - myself @ 2469 meters: the highest mountain in northern Europe! 😀
(The mountain Galdhøpiggen in Norway)
Being Norwegian and having mountains all over the country I just had to make a little fun of Holland, which (like Denmark) is pretty flat. Flat like the distortion vs frequency curve on a NC400.

That's correct....I'm sorry the sales is much higher as we expected...
We'll discuss to increase volume of the batches.
Excellent, so i'm still good to go for week 11. Also I can't help but ask since it is so near, is everything looking to be on schedule still for the wk11 batch?
the joke about -7 meters reminds me of the local joke, Did you know last year 53 people fell off their bicycles in Oregon and drowned?
sent from Portland Oregon in the great Pacific Northwest.
and now on to the reason for the post.
Went to visit a pair of B&W 800's, (not diamond, previous version). with the ncore.
Its a nice room that sounds good, the owner does a lot of work there and knows the room and speakers well, did I mention its a mastering studio?
Anyway, basically its just like everybody says, ITS AWESOME, tight bass when the recording was there, sweet when sweet, etc.
He has been using an Emotiva, an amp I have no experience with, and cursed me for bring the ncore over. You can guess the reason. I see an order in the near future. He noted better imaging with the ncore and better bass. As well as the smoothness and effortlessness of the reproduction.
There really isn't much to say about the amp, it just does its job. Which to me is the highest form of praise available for an amp.
One more scheduled visit to a studio that uses a UCD700 currently to compare that to the ncore400.
My room is totally dismantled and not available to listen in for a while to come.
Cheers,
Alan Garren

We would like to keep this confidential. When I'm back from skiing we'll discuss internally how to increase volume and to get next batch (hopefully) earlier as WK18.
@Jan-Pieter: Great for Hypex that sales going well in this economic difficult times but please make sure that Quality Control stays good. I would prefer to receive my 5 NCore modules 1 or 2 weeks later instead receiving defective ones.

And 2 renderings of what I think my case will look like. Just noticed that i forgot to cut out the space behind some of the connectors and see that the xlr's are male, in stead of female (inputs, yes, female 😀)
Plan is to mill a block of aluminium so that everything fits in nice, including cabling, mill some room at the back so that the connectors are hidden under a "roof". Top will be either black glass or acrylic with black bottom layer (shiny!). Sort of a big iphone 4. That's just me, I'm a complete sucker for that glass/aluminium stuff 🙂

Cheers

1. Yes
2. No
Maybe we could ask hexateq to cnc it, but im not sure as his previous efforts stranded in a discussion about features. For the time being im on my own!

After 10 pages of talks about LEDs, skiing and nCore delivery schedule, I am sad nobody answered my questions or even took care about my posts below:
Should I assume all answers are obvious enough not to be answered? 😀😀
I am a newbie on this forum and also in DIY. I am considering to go for nc400 and make best possible assembly. Few questions to experienced DIYers and Bruno:
1) Due to SMPS power, I suppose any power tweak, such as Shaffner filter, line balancing transformers (220V to +110 / -110V) or other becomes useless. Am I right? Otherwise what filtering should I use?
2) Would it make sense to build a faraday shield around power supply and or the NC400 ?
3) Would it make sense to put a ferrite ring around the supply cables between PSU and NC400?
4) would it make sense to wrap cables into an additional metallic shield connected to the chassis?
One other newbie question:
How should be implemented power on/off function to avoid plops in the speakers when switching on the unit?
Some of you seem to use a switch on the mains between IEC plug and SMPS, some use the nAmpOn Pin J9:3 and the SMPS even have its own pin for stand-by (Pin J1:1). Which solution should be implemented. What are the advantages / drawbacks of all possible layouts?
Should I assume all answers are obvious enough not to be answered? 😀😀
I would also like to know what people think. There hasn't been a lot discussed on the subject. What about shielding and sources of interference.
