Hypex NCore NC500 build

The NC-400's don't have lower distortion and noise than the NC-500's

And my buffer based on the SIL 994 and Richards circuit from 4 generations ago wasn't a bottleneck either when you look at the THD+N:

Indeed !

I send you Bruno in Survey stage in the wilde Canada 🙂 (joke off course) 🙂

What changed if the noise floor are so low than even speakers would not see différences : What really changed ? (Does a scope measure can reflect that in this particular example you linked ? )

The sound changed. When I get my aPX-555 I will try to figure out what really matters. The manual is over 700 pages long. It's capable of far more than what the AES considers the only things that matter.

In my listening seat my speakers sound great but if I sit a couple of feet to the right they sound boomy. Therefore nobody is allowed to sit in my listening chair.
What I would like to know is if the Hypex standard buffer is so good why do instruments sound more natural and real with the Sonic Imagery op amps. How do they colour the sound to be more like the real thing.
The answer is that the standard Hyper buffers are not as perfect as some think.

No I'm waiting for more boards to come in first. You bought one? $33000 machine for general hobbiest work is quite an investment. Or do you have commercial projects in the works?

No future commercial interest, I can work about three functions! My brother is the smart one currently working for Intel and uses it daily, I just pop by to get things measured and learn from him. I suppose it's family bonding!

Wow with that much is disposable cash laying around I wouldn't even bother tinkering with DIY stuff. But I suppose there's more expensive hobbies around. Don't be shy to share measurement results. 🙂

I wouldn't say that... I helped a family member who needed something, which may further help their career and helps me better understand my hobby... For anyone that pay's list price is also crazy.

It certainly looks interesting and should be able to provide some extremely granular measurements. We should carry this on in PM - may not be the appropriate place to discuss.

Yes. The new module isn't even on the datasheet. It has a crazy precision master clock. But yes I suppose the results from the gear would be a more appropriate discussion for this thread rather than the gear 🙂
