hybrid amp with dht or idht inputs?

ok... looking for about a gain of 20 in an input stage with a bit of current too. What comes to mind is an ECC99. with a 1:1 IT to mosfet output stage.

Then I thought wouldnt it be cool to do a DHT input stage, but it would have to be a 2 stage.. there are no medium mu high current DHTs.

Thinking: 26 direct coupled to 71a with a 1:1 IT.

i just dont know if the dht way would work.

opinions?
