Hi,

I have to change the tubes of this guitare Amp and buied the four tubes from
internet site who recommande to upgrade the two chinese ECC83 tubes this way

1 X 12AX7C Low Noise for préampli
1 X 12AX7 / ECC83s Premium JJ for driver

and then

2 X EL84/6BQ5 Sovtek ou JJ appairéd for power stage.

Schematics joined shows, the two ECC83 identified T1 and T2 but y don't know wich one is preampli and wich one is driver

T2 is the driver and phase splitter, T1 is the pre driver. U1 is the pre amp, not the valve.
It really doesn't matter what grade the ECC83s but Chinese are a bad choice for the money in my opinion. JJ not too good.
I always use an EU or Russian.Eastern Block manufacturer as they are better quality.

The most recent issue of the German Gitarre & Bass magazine says that almost any TAD tube is of Chinese origin. The owner of the shop provides quality control right at the manufacturing plant, though.

In my limited experience, this is the key to getting the quality you need from your Chinese partners. Otherwise the "cheaper, cheaper, cheaper" mantra takes over.
