HPS 6.1

Interesting, Acrylic, Metallized, good find
Thx for the tip

(but the check passed!) with what design rule? 2.5mil pad/trace 🙂

JLC DRC
JLCPCB

Pad to Track 0.2mm (~0.0078mil)
5/5 mil width/spacing for 1oz outer layer

makes you wonder why/how they did not catch it, or they do not care if you have a violation, or they can process that without an issue.
The flying probe test just checks trace end point continuity.

Hello,

I have just built the HPS 6.2.

Now I have some HF-issues which leads to high noise. I used 1uH ferrites as shown in the schematic. In the picture you are using 2.2uH. I'm wondering from which manufacturer they are. Any recommendations on correct 2.2uH ferrites?

Is it also possible to adjust C204 and the Zobel network?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Frank

I posted a couple of pictures of my HAS6.1 build here but as I have a couple of comments I have reopened this thread.

A general comment as made above is and I quote - '(The 6.1) is extremely quiet, accurate, and dynamic and does justice to my high-end cartridges. It also has a very high gain in both Low and High configurations (69 and 54 dBs respectively), this could be too much for certain cartridges. I'm not sure if altering the feedback resistors to reduce such would cause an issue (excessive current in the loop for example).' - would reducing the LOW gain of the amp create a problem with higher current (and the possibility of damaging the amp)?

Also when cold, the headamp is noisy but this goes after a few minutes, it's the same for both channels. It's not an issue as I normally leave the amp switched on but I am wondering if anyone else suffers from this problem.

Karl
