Anybody using an HP TouchSmart yet? Seems like it would be a good fit with JRiver media and iTunes, but I'm wondering about the noise level.

Looking at it, I dont think it would be ideal for anything other than a music server. Even then its going to be an expensive server, you will still need a good quality dac to get the best sound.
Its the screen size you see, too small for my less than perfect eyes to use accross a room.
A better option IMHO is to use a normal PC with a big screen, 42' LCD for instance and a remote control to surf your media.
J Rivers or MCE do this very well, there are even touch screen remotes that will surf the media library from your hand.
I have a piece of software for my mobile phone that lets me browse my media collection via bluetooth and control playback of my media machine. Cant find my phone though! Handheld pc's are also very good for this, you can get applications that do the same thing.
