I don't know if this is in the right forum...sorry of it isn't
I didn't find anything about making an amp...
I would like to make my own guitar amp. But I don't have a clue how to start. I can get some kits from 'velleman' but I don't know if this is good:
Velleman AMP 200W
Velleman guitar preamp
I don't know if this stuff is any good...pls help me out here
I also need some information about speakers. Which speakers should I use? it's only for a guitar.
How can I adjust my tone? do I need an equalizer? If so, can you make that yourself? or should I buy a small behringer-mixpanel (to adjust gain, highs, mids and lows)
sorry for my crappy english, I hope you guys can help me!!

Well, I made that preamp as my very first project. It works but that's it. It hasn't the tone shaping you need in a guitar preamp. Why don't you make a tube amp? They are quite easy to make, but parts are a little more expensive.
You can mail me if you have more questions, then we can speak/write Duch. (Nederlands dus)

Aha, more people from Oost-Vlaanderen 🙂
Svokke, maybe a tube amp is not the best choice as a first time project for a 15 year old (no offense meant, crooz!): cost and safety (high voltages) come to my mind. As a first experiment, a chip amp (LM-whatever) is much easier; of course, these things are not made to clip like a tube amp :-(
For speakers, you will probably find something relatively cheap and decent from Monacor (just put the thing in an open back cabinet).
Just mail me for discussion in Dutch.

The easiest, and most documented ( in my experience ) guitar amp you can build is the SIMPLE 6V6 amp on the angela.com web pages. He tells you what you should buy, gives you an overhead layout of the wiring, schematics..etc.
availible here : http://www.angela.com/catalog/how-to/Single.6V6.html Read all the notes on the project first to give you a good primer on building amps, and safety aspects.
It's one of the most basic guitar amps you can build, and will get you started on more complicated amps.
It wont be loud enough to play clubs with, but it will sound better than any amp you could buy with that amount of money.

guitar amp - simple and solid state
I recommend the pre-amp by Rod Elliot. (found here http://sound.westhost.com/index.html)
The older version (which is perfectly adequate for mortals) only needs one NE5532. Version two has an (optional) extra stage for driving an output line.
I recommend using a LM1875 or similar gainclone type for the power stage. (see elsewhere in this forum) Again - not for rock-gods. I built one of these for each of my children and myself. We like them
