I am trying to do some mods to a Marantz SACD player but I am not sure how to properly disconnect these connectors (see photos). The white one is a larger one and the black one is a thin one for flat ribbon cables.
I appreciate any hints.

There should be a little "hook" on the plug and jack that must be disengaged first.
Best way is to use a small screw driver and work from one end disengaging the "hook" from the plug, then gently using another small screw driver move the plug away by prying where the plug and jack meet.
Do not pry where the "hook" is! And watch out for the pins! 🙁
Repeat this for about half way and it should give way with a light pull.
