How to tell if my usb 3.0 disk is 3.0 or 2.0?

I connected a usb 3.0 hdd enclosure to my pc, yet it does not seem very fast. In copying 130 GB its going at about 26 MB/sec according to windows.

How do I tell if it is transferring data under usb 3.0 or under usb 2.0 protocols?

aaaahhh, yeah I have a motherboard with many usb 3 connections and plugged the usb 3 drive into the usb 3 slot, but since all of these connections are backwards compatible with usb 2.0 how do you actually confirm you are using usb 3 vs. usb 2 on this particular device?

Ok, I will answer my own question, there are 2 things to check.
Go under control panel--->Hardware-->device manager and twirl down universal serial bus. Look for USB 3 or "super speed" controllers to make sure you have the right drivers.
Next hook up a fast disk like SSD into a USB 3.0 enclosure and run some disk benchmarks (crystalmark (sequential) or ATTO) to make sure you are getting over 35-40 MB/sec transfer rates ano if so you are actually using usb 3.0. If you don't have a SSD, even a normal SATA magnetic drive under usb 3.0 should give 70-100 MB/sec, proving usb 3.0 is active. Again, any I/O over 35 MB/sec means usb 3.0 is up and working.
