How to replace a clock?

Hi, I have a Wadia 170 iTransport and an old 12MHz Superclock kicking around that I want to install into it. Inside the 170, the digital data goes to a USB/SPDIF chip. Near the chip is a 12MHz oscillator, a gold, surface mount job that looks to have four solder points, one at each corner.

How would I replace the oscillator with the Superclock? Just desolder the present oscillator then connect the Superclock output to the proper IC pin + ground?

Thanks in advance. I'm almost knowledge-free on these matters, as you can tell.

Here's a picture of the oscillator and the chip.

Looks like a pretty standard oscillator + 1 resistor + 2 capacitor jobbie, only it's SMD so it's slightly more complex.

I'd check out the Tentlabs clock installation manual to see how to install it, pretty sure it will apply to your superclock.

Take a look here: http://www.tentlabs.com/Components/cdupgrade/xo2xo3/assets/XO23mounting.pdf
On page 4 you can see what I mean. If desoldering is too difficult you could cut traces.
