how to remove the words on the face plate?

how do you remove the text and letters off the front of a amp's faceplate (metal)? i tried goo gone but it doesnt help. what could i do to remove the letters?

Dunno if it will work for that, but a common way of getting logos off remotes and other plastic things like phones, is to rub it with sugar... its coarse enough to strip the paint, but not enough to damage the plastic.

Nordic's right as sugar cubes do work well. You could always try Zippo fluid as has been successful on some panels.

removing letters

have you tried lacquer thinner or acetone? As long as it's metal they won't hurt anything.. dampen a cloth with some and wipe away.
