use a 7" 800x480 LCD or an 8" 800x600 LCD. Both are produced in China actually. If you can find a place selling it.
bruv your a joker most of us order stufff rom your country and end up paying loads a money for the duty tax.....you should be able to look out your windows and find the PERFECT lcd dealer for pennies.

As far as finding stuff in his country sometimes I have found that in countries where it is produced they are actually harder to find because most of the stuff is sent directly to exporting. But I don't know what the situation is like in china.

dude if u want to build small pj you have to think small.....small light source...small screen....small housing........hqi lighting is probably the smalles and most powerful, so you should maybe start there! also you might consider a high quality 7" or even small 5" screen......i used a 5.6" screen that actually wasn't that bad..well copared to a psone screen anyway...
your projector can only be a weak as you make it........................u can do it! (waterboy)
