How to make my sound system sound better

And pictures!! we love pictures!! They will help alot with not only what you have but how it is within the vehicle.

I'm thinking you might benefit from building or getting another enclosure built. While sealed has it's benefits.. they never tend to give what some people like.

Well... the positioning of the enclosure and distance for loading does make a difference. I've had many systems over the last 25 years and I'm pretty good at knowing where stuff loads best. I've owned SPL meters for years and tested the crap out of loading and enclosure positioning for many years. 😉

You're right Perry. I'm pretty sure it only makes about 300 or less RMS. It is what it is. I'm thinking possibly positioning it and or setting amp properly might help a bit. It's only going to be so loud. OIften people decide that they need to upgrade to meet their needs... but I'm all about getting the most from what you have. 🙂

You're right but he shouldn't have unrealistic expectations. A high quality single woofer driven by a true 1000 watts is moving with so much force at full power that it could actually injure you if you attempted to touch it. I doubt that's the case here. If he's unwilling to upgrade, there may be nothing that can be done to make the bass better.

Actually, I will upgrade and replace the sub if it's the case here but is it?
If I will change the amp will it sound better? Or if I change the sub and the box, which one should I get and how many watts or so? I will be happy for any recommendations.

I'd suggest that you try to find others with similar cars that have the bass you want and see what sort of equipment they're running.

You absolutely cannot go by the watt rating of the amps unless you're dealing with an amp manufacturer that honestly rates their amps (most budget amps do not). The same applies to woofers.

Bear in mind that good equipment isn't cheap. You'll have to decide just how important more bass is, if it's worth spending $1000 or more to get what you want.

Well, I was searching for sub few days ago and I found these subs, can you tell me which one of them is the best? And which box is better? Sealed or ported? (just so I will know).

Pioneer TSW31S4
Pioneer bazukka TSWX306T
Sony GTX122LT (bazukka also)

Are they better from what I have got now? What do you think about them?

To make a significant audible difference, you have to make a BIG change.

The Alpine R-W12D2 has a good reputation (read reviews). As for an amp, I can't really recommend any. Find one that produces 750-1000w RMS into whatever load the speaker presents and the amp power rating is CEA compliant.

The enclosure should be whatever the woofer manufacturer recommends made of 3/4" MDF glued and screwed on all joints.

I prefer sealed. Others prefer ported.
