so im using 49600 as a straigth up line level buffer- only 5v +/- supply, buffer then straight into rca to the preamp. I have the chip configured for max bias- 10ohm resistor to the bias from the negative supply. it works fine but i expected the chip to run hotter- it's barely above room temp to the touch.
is it possible to make the chip draw more current? how?

If you raise the rails voltages to something like ±18V it should get nice and toasty.how to make LME49600 hotter?
(No idea why you’d want that, but hey it’s your party. )
Edit: Andrew beat me to it

Why??
The chip cleverly leverages good design and precision matching to get near-zero THD and response out to the FM radio band. What more would heat buy you?
Do math. 10V total supply. 13.2mA current. 0.132 Watts idle power. 65 deg C/W dissipation. 8.6 deg C rise. "Barely" above the room it is in. Typically below body core temperature, so it won't "feel" hot.
If you are cold, build this instead.
