How to link a picture as an inline attachment from another post?

Take for instance the attached picture in post #8 here:

How can one use a linked picture as an inline picture in a new post?

When I try to find the picture link (from the browser, right-click and select 'copy picture address') it gives the following which will not work:

there is no .jpeg file name extension there as one would expect.

Composing a new post and trying to use 'Insert link' or 'Insert image' will not work, so how do I do?

Put [img] tags around it.

ok so we have to work around manually with the tags, alright then that will do for now, thanks.
Hopefully we will get a post editing button for adding inline images that also understands links to non-standardized file name images residing on DiyA.

@chrisng yes that was my initial work-around thought as well one can only save and upload again, but that creates a duplicate which is taking up unnecessary memory space plus the missing image linking functionality in the post editor isn't very elegant solution.

but using the [IMG] and [/IMG] tags, and in between the tags add the DiyA linked image URL https://www.diyaudio.com/community/attachments/slone_figure11-4-jpeg.231947/ works,
and so the complete tagged link would look like as follow in order to do what AllenB did in post #2:
