Chuckles aplenty...
In this country, saying "Really" in that context is the same as saying "Yeah, right."
Plausible. I would expect to be able to feel the bass if I held it in my hand.
The Core is a small, portable and elegant speaker system that sounds like two widely separated full size HiFi speakers with smooth highs, crystal clear midrange and bone shaking bass. Really.

The end result is a speaker that you can hold in your hand that makes real bass, the kind you can feel and not just hear.

I was at a trade seminar once where a couple were talking for about an hour about innovation, mainly because they didn't have a physical product to talk about. One pulls out an iphone and selects a song, and music comes blaring from the back of the small conference room. Apart from being distorted from being overly loud, it was very band limited. An A/V expert sitting next to me said it sounded "like AM radio". The guy who was presenting continued on, acclaiming how revolutionary this product was.....
Most audiophiles are just smart enough to be the dumbest
people you'll meet, and I mean that with all the kindness and
compassion that I can muster.
Their behaviour is directly proportional to their income.
Easy come, easy go.
Really!? I have heard all those tricks. They are not new. Fun to play with but nothing to take seriously.
They are to be taken seriously if one cares about an appropriate sized center image.
"edit" (although these techniques should be done with all other learned things in speaker design)
this includes dynamic range. "big speakers"

The giveaway is when they say you put one in each room - IOW, the SPLs they're capable of cleanly are very flimsy. When someone says you buy one, and satisfying sound fills the whole house then one might start taking them seriously ... 😉

This is not what we are talking about. We are talking about 2" loudspeakers and signal processing. I was referring to things like the small speakers that are put on top of TVs that send sounds to the walls, etc. "Cool" at first, but they quickly become annoying.

So Hey! Let's say that!! There is apparently no need to actually have to do what is claimed!

Sorry, I was under the impression that you were talking about LRC matrixing or ambiophonics.
Thats why I edited my reply and added that dynamics were an important part of the equation.
I'm opposed to small drivers that make silly claims also of course!

But things does not have to be new to be exciting. Stereo speakers have been around for ages and generally they all do the same things. All I'm saying is as DIYer why not build one and see/hear? Or improve.
I have this "Yamaha THR-10" guitar amp which is so small in front of me. Go to youtube and see how people compare it with full Mesa Boogie setup !!
Sometimes the underdog *is* exciting 😎
Re How to kill audio.......
He didn't say he illegally downloaded it. It's possible to download stuff and pay for it!
I think his point was that he went to the concert first: the live event was the key experience, rather than the recording which has become a bit more of a souvenir, whereas back in the day one probably looked forward to the recording coming out as the key experience, and then went to the gig as something to do of an evening.

Strange, it all depends. He didn't say he illegally downloaded it. It's possible to download stuff and pay for it!

I went to the Earth, Wind & Fire concert (now, this year) and the key experience is the old records/CD's from the Disco era. Go figure... 😱
it has always been the same with very few people caring about good and even less about highend sounds in their homes (and recognizing a good sounding system in other places as what it is).
but one thing has really changed:
it has never been as important to show what you own and do as it is in this times.
that's the real zeitgeist.
it is just a deduction of economy being the leading science.
this fact is strengthend by social internet media where you show off what you consume.
all this goes hand in hand with our perception focussing more and more on the sense of vision.
ok, so far we have people who want to consume products they can show to others and don't care to much about sq.
it is obvious what the industry will offer them.
a real good example is a neighbour who came to my home two weeks ago and showed me a small portable boombox he bought for several hundred euro.
of course it has a bose badge.
he told me that thing is so loud i would not believe.
he started to stream music from youtube via his smartphone to the boombox and turned the volume to max.
you guys know what it sounded like.
what would you tell this guy?
