I've a dozen resistors to fit together in a speaker crossover and I was wondering which is the best practice to physically join a dozen resistor terminals together.

That is not recommended as to daisy chain or parallel power resistors makes a heavy and prone to damage clump of components. Twisting the leads and heat shrinking is an option though.

How will you physically mount them?
They can´t just "float in the air"
You can make a PCB to hold the crossover, or use terminal strips bolted/riveted to a piece of hardboard or use an eyeletted/turret board.
You have other components there, at least a capacitor or two and most probably inductor(s), how will you mount those?

Really I'm replacing an existing variable resistor from the binding-post cup of loudspeakers so the place to hold resistors group is that.
What I ask is not so much how to fix the group of resistors on the cup but the best practice how to fix their bodies together and most of all how to materially tie their terminals together: crimping them inside a metallic ring, soldering them, to how many millimeters from their body, using a dedicated board...

I'd space them with ice lolly sticks, twist the leads, solder and remove sticks.
