[newbie sarcasm] Hey I have that same LCD.. can it be dismantle? [/newbie sarcasm]
Nice job cruser! Now no one here should be affraid to dismantle this LCD anymore.
Remember mine.. My tiny screwdriver brokes it's tip on the last screw! DAMN, I was so angry lol! 1 fu******** screw remaining lol! And guest what? the tip stayed in the screw so I wasn't able to use an other screwdriver! I had to bent the alu frame and "twist" it, like I was unscrewing it.. Man what a job, I had to be very carfull with the frame, I didn't want it to scratch the lcd. But it work!

Aw yes! Good times! That is just as i remember doing it 🙂. To everyone out there, its really not hard if you remember his one piece of advice... Once you have the lcd stripped, do not flip it over, move it, or even touch it for that matter with out placing it on a board/hard surface with felt/something soft (like a cutting board). This way you can slide it to where ever you need to place it, and the flex cables will not even move. If you do this to move around the lcd, you will not fail 🙂. Good Luck! Cruser, great post btw.
realy nice help dude! thanks!
I just dont understand one thing, what do you do with al the other stuff wich is removed, al the electronics and gren circuitcards. Is it just hanging under the monitor later on, or what?

good call ND
yeah... you happen to be right ND....
anyway,
I did get my panel today and have it completely dismantelled... I havn't had the chance to turn it on yet though because I want to secure it to a board first and get all of the grounds connected properly... plus, I'm in no hurry, I have no light yet so even if I get all setup, I'm still gonna have to wait... actually I think I'm gonna plop a good ole 60 watt light bulb in there just to see a picture on the wall... hopefully it will be visible... lol
well I don't have a digicam so I can't really take too many pictures, but I might go out and get a roll of film... I think they still make it ;-) and dig out my old camera... we'll see
Right now I'm tryign to figure out exactly how I'm going to mount the puppy... having trouble figuring out how to raise it off of the OHP stage...

lol, im to noobish, but how do you apply the controllerboard in the box later on? Is there a good site or thred about it? it seems like you are having a glass on top of it or something

Out of the shell...
the Enclosure....
Close-ups of the corners
And finally the boards mounted and grounded..... ahh i love epoxy...
Lets switch it on and pray....
Now to get the box built and fresnel split.... more pics on that later~!
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

i only see it in PITCH BLACK scenes , the piex it white so it blends in every other scene other than pitch.

digicam dead pixels
Hey verbose,
the two dead pixels that you're talking about in Logvin's photo are from his digital camera. I'm too lazy to bring them into Photoshop and check the rest of the photos for the dead pixels, but I'm 95% sure that thats what they are.
I had a Canon Powershot G1 and after a long time it developed a whole lot of hot/dead pixels and they look like that. His non-backlit LCD wouldn't pop up pixels that bright.

Re: size matters...
hahaha, sorry about that, ive been on the internet for years but im still new to these php msg boards; i didnt know how to resize it on here, and i was to lazy to do them all in picture it.
Nah thats not a dead pixel, i think its a byproduct of either my camera or of getting the picture online.
What do you guys think of my mounting job? I cant wait to get this baby up and running.... my only problem is splitting my fresnel.. i have alan staples 12x12 and a dremel, but i couldnt find the bit when I searched... any help?

damn why didnt i think of that...jeez i was in the chat room with the WHOLE F*ing day! and u never mentioned a dead pixel...🙄 lol
your mounting job looks great! wow! but it makes it extra sensitive by placing those components on the outside of the box..but then again it keeps it safe from heat...but then again its to far from the light source to heat up...
any ways GREAT job Log!
