Hi......I have completed a tda1541a nos dac kit ( analogmetric )....all voltages have been checked and are spot on.I am not using any op-amps after the dac , but instead the diy paradise i/v stage, which I believe is optimised for the tda 1543 dac ?.
I am using a squeeze box 3 as source.When I turn on the dac ....I just get hiss and no music....as I turn the gain up the hiss goes up, but still no music. One funny thing I have noticed as that when i change stations on the sb3 it goes dead quiet, then when it locks on the new station....hiss again!.
The outputs from the dac seem ok, as I temporarily connected one 50 ohm to gnd and one 50 in series before a 20uf blocking cap at the output rca connector. I got music in both channels, altho low in volume.
thanks

You I´ll have to build an output stage:
Passive -> TDA – I/V resistor – output stage or active -> TDA - diyparadise i/v stage
Passive -> TDA – I/V resistor – output stage or active -> TDA - diyparadise i/v stage
U have to connect pin 13 of CS8412 to ground. And then bend the pin 9 of 74HCT4040 ( so that it does not sit inside the socket).
try listen again.
try listen again.
I believe the diyparadise I/V is this one: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=323018#post323018
Unfortunately you can't use it because the TDA1541A needs to see 0V DC at its output.
An alternative would be this: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=9226
Hope this helps.

Thanks guys
...thanks for all the suggestions.... I will work out the most suitable and report back.....I didn't realise the tda1541a was so "fussy" about what it drives....this is a steep learning curve for me.
