Hello,
i need an advice on howto check the polarity of the cables of the woofer output on a crossover. On the woofer out i have two cables and no marking of which one is + or - (The HF and Mid have + -markings) is there a way to check which cable is which before i put the woofer back and close the speaker.

Small battery and check if it move forward or back? (I think Ive read this recommendation here before.
Yes i know that for the speaker,i want to check the cables that come out of the crossover to the woofer, which on should be the + Or the -,there is no marking on the board or the cables,
How about if i use a multimeter ?Touch the + - from the speaker input to the woofer outputs ,test each cable it should give a +- value sign if a switch the multimeter to DC ?
Use the resistance scale on your multimeter to check for continuity as you say, you should get a reading of 0 ohms on the negative and a low reading on the positive
Yes. I think the best way will be to measure the resistance between the known negative of the other parts of the crossover and each of the unknown (woofer) outputs, and the lowest resistance will be the negative. Sort of what Scott said. The only issue I can see with this might be if one is inverted like on some speakers.

I dont think its inverted its an old cambridge audio from the 70's,someone made a custom crossover (looks well made) for them and then i got the speaker from another guy who doesn't know anything about speakers, the speaker came with out woofers (I have spares)but dont know the polarity since there are no markings ,the others )HF and Mid have markings.
