How to achieve the "best" black satin paint job without a lot of sanding?

Finished the job, sort of. I would have taken pictures during my processes just for future reference and a laugh, but my camera is not here. I needed to finish painting before my significant other and kids got back, so I kind of ran out of time painting the speakers. I covered the speakers with sanding sealer, primer and then Rustoleum texture finish, but only had 4 - 12 ounce aerosol cans, so the paint job turned out blotchy. I think I need 4 more cans for a uniform finish, but they will get messed up soon anyway, so it's not really a big deal.
