How should I sell my old JBL L65s--Whole or part it out?

Sorry this is not much of a DIY question--it is more of a question of how do I make the most money so that I can put that money into DIY speakers😉

I just managed to get a good old pair of JBL L65s. The problem is that it the they look quite beat up and the woofers look to be non-jbl replacements and one of them is torn. They came with the manuals in mint condition. I really do not have the time to restore them right now, so I am wondering how I should go about selling them---as a whole or should I brake them down into individual parts. Opinions? Ebay allright or should I look to sell them on an audiophile site?

Given the condition that you will get more money -- and have an easier time shipping -- by breaking them up.

Email me if you'd like some further help... part of my living is spent doing this, but the forum probably isn't the appropriate place to discuss it.

Okay thanks; I always figured that breaking it up was the way to go. I really do have to admit I am starting to fall in love with those speakers--Those glass tweeters sound amazing, simply the best highs I have ever heard (for $15 garage sale speakers that is saying a lot!) While they do look like crap and I don't have the time or space to restore them I am going to miss our time together. Oh well, I figure that If I break up the speakers up I should get about $500-600 on ebay.

P.s. The man I bought them from at that garage sale was a sad man indeed (his wife was making him do it) He kept reminiscing about those speakers and year bygone. I guess he will be even sadder if/when he learns what they are worth.

I would love to, but they are most of the value of the speakers--and I am going to heading back to college soon, so no DIY til next summer. I have to admit I thought of retrofitting my Polk RTA 11ts with, however I really don't think I can work them into the polk's design. It is going to be hard to part with a tweeter that has a dispersion of 110 degrees at 20,000hz, but it was meant for a 3-way configuration, and I am just starting out in DIY speakers so I want to keep it 2-way for now.
