I would guesstimate nearer +10dB for a well designed and implemented horn but ONLY in it's passband.
Thanks guys - looking at using the 50mm jordan unit in an downward firing omni horn and match it with a (reflex) bass driver with a sensitivity of around 92 (a difference of around 7 db) firing upward. making it omni helps keep it a very compact design as the horn diameter and crossover point can then be reduced; one worry is that omni treble issue I'm reading about, maybe the jordans clinical, detailed sound would overcome that
