How loud do you listen?

To continue the electrical analogies, I think the main reason why I'm different is because I have a different "code base" and "hardware" than most of you. Just accept the differences and understand that they often make for a different point of view in engineering. And note that sudden changes in thought really just help at looking at the problem from a different angle. (However, contrary to what you might think, that is not all caused by "interference" from the "415nHz VM input gating clock", although the "falling edge" of that clock does often trigger such events.)

LOL 😀

According to winISD, my sub plays at (roughly, as room gain not included) 105dB, down to 40Hz (hits Xlim), and my sats play to similar volumes. This is when I'm going for it volume wise.

Apart from that, not sure. It's the sort of level where you can talk at normal volumes to someone next to you, and you can keep that volume to talk across the room (4m away). Not sure how loud that is on the deci-meter, so any opinions on that are welcome.

Chris, I'll log that at around 80-86 dB depending on how loud you speak 🙂

I'm thinking of the midrange in all of this, I know you have to welly the low frequencies to get any response.

Loud is 85 volts p-p on the bass drivers amplifier, so we're looking at about 220 watts there.

The mids take only 0.7 of a watt to do the same thing -.- open baffle bass efficiency for the loss. So I'm looking at around 85dB for the pair at my listening distance.

Normally I'd listen at about 70dB which is lower then I thought it would be.

This is all tested with sine waves mind you, so those would be peak values, although what does 'peak' mean nowadays when everything's compressed so badly.
