Cannot agree to that, im most cases the remasters do definetely sound better than the original cd. Some of zappa's come to mind, Miles Davis - I could compare them directly, and after comparison I gave the original away for free. Could not sell this crap.

YEP that's exactly it. Mountains of resolution with the life sucked out of the music. That's how DVD-Audio stereo sounds to me. There's something very sick in PCM compared to DSD. I've listened to one SACD (harpsichord music) that for a few seconds sounded like vinyl! - rich harmonics, inner detail doing amazing things in my mind ( I get a taste sensation when this happens so I know it's the real thing!)

I am generally a tube poster, however I saw your post, and was in instant agreement, however the question I have for you is a little harder to answer. do you think that the increase in quality from a CD to a Vinyl is noticable even on cheap Wal-Mart Speakers? or does one require a very expensive stereo to tell the difference?
