Hi people!

im new to these boards and have finally started to plan my projector which i have been thinking about building for a long time now.

Im trying to figure out what lens i should get to produce a good size image where the projector is about 2.26 meters (86 inch) away from the wall.

I will be using an 4:3 lcd panel which is about 9" diagonal.

Does anyone know how you work out how big the projected image on the wall will be by using the projection lens focal length and the size of the lcd panel?

i assume thats all you need to work it out.

any help would be great!!

p.s. i was thinkin of getting the Varifocal 4-Element Projection Lens which has a variable focal length of 217.6mm - 229.5mm. would this give me a big image from 2.26 meters (86 inch) away from the wall?
