you use the added mass to calculate compliance

2) apply a blob of modeling clay, with mass M' ( 5g for an 8" woofer) , and find the new f(s), or fs'
3) M (grams) = M' / (((fs/fs')^2)-1)
4) Cms =1/(((2 pi fs)^2)*( M))
5) Vas = Cms* d * (c^2) *A^2
where Cms is expressed in cm/dyne
d = density of air in gm/cm^3
c = speed of sound cm/sec
A = area of cone in cm^2
