How do sovtek`s 6L6WGCs stand against other current production 6L6s?

are they really bad?

Sure thing. It's the label the Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg uses because New Sensor (Sovtek/EH) bought the trademark rights to the "S" logo and Svetlana name, at least in the US.

If the printing on the tube is a "C" with wings it's also from St. Petersburg.
