Hello everyone,
I just recieved my first projection panel (Sharp QA 1800), and I am very new to this subject. I bought it of eBay and it did not come with a manual or remote. All of the conections work just fine, but it seems like the whole panel is not being used.
The image I get is smaller than the whole glass part. It does this with anything I conect to it to. Can anyone help me?😕

you probably can enlarge/move the image on the lcd with the remote.
if their arent buttons on the lcd panel itself, then you'll have to try to get a remote control from somewhere..
or you could get a remote control that controls lots of things, sometimes that works (perhaps people have experience with it here..)

The panel does have buttons on the side, and in the menu there is a part that says Resize (or something like that) but it tells me that it is an invalid action.

seeing as this panel is on one i just bought i have a quiestion: How you get the panel to choose the input source?!?!?!?! ive been messing with it for 3 and a half hours lol can find out anywere..(im used to a tv projector lol) anyhelp is appreciated and thanks. (stupid input soures how to chosse

To select the input you can press up/down while holding select. I had the same problem and someone from here helped me out. Hope that helps!

Sharp QA-1xxx remote control
If you do still want to get a remote so that you don't have to open your projector to push buttons every time you need to change input modes, you may be able to find a remote for a different Sharp QA model on eBay. I know, for instance, that the Sharp QA-1400 through Sharp QA-1800 panels all use the same IR codes, so even though different model remotes have slightly different buttons, they can all at least access the menu and all of the other significant controls for each other. Hopefully that helps you some!

I don't have a remote, but I bought a univeral remote from Radio Shack (with the 6 pin connector under the battery cover), downloaded the "JP-1" software from that forum (sorry, don't have the link on this PC). There is a thread on our forum under "QA-1150" that lists a site to download tons of IR codes, including the QA-1800 & QA-2500. Hopefully I will be able to load those codes and make my own remote. I also need the manual. I have been sending photocopies of my QA-1150 manual to anyone needing one for $10, including shipping. (It's definitely not a moneymaker since photocopying isn't free!) Anyone with a QA-1800 manual willing to do the same?😎

The instructions for the 1800 are nearly the same. Also, I recommend contacting Sharp before re-distributing those copies - that's a copyright infrigement and they don't take stuff like that lightly even if the item has been out of production for decades!

Thanks for the suggestion. Sharp does not list any of the panels on their site, of course. I did email them on their support site asking if providing a copied manual is OK or not. If they deny me permission then I will definitely comply with them, and nix the whole idea!

I would hope that they would be okay with it - they certainly haven't made any attempt to reproduce those manuals or provide any other information about these QA series panels (I've called severeal times in the past). Good luck!
i just got a new qa-1800 and no matter what i connect to it, it always has a "no signal" at the bottom right hand corner. please help if you guys have figured it out...oh and i already tried holding select and the up/down arrows and it still doesnt want to work...thanks
