That sounds like a good starting point. Ive build sort of a plug and play amp, basically soldering some cables to an amp board, and as it turns out, I’m quite terrible at soldering.
There is SO much to learn from a “simple” circuit. Once you have a few of them under your belt, the complex ones are easy. The basic electronics texts that have been mentioned are great. Build some of those simple circuits (or simulate them if you don’t have required lab equipment). Then verify to your satisfaction that they do what the texts say they should. When they don’t, that’s when you really start learning.
