How do I join wood panels at awkward angles?

How do you join two wood panels at an angle such as 21 degrees? I'd like to use only glue. Is there a way to clamp them?

Is it ok to use nails and/or screws? Will it affect the sound?

You can use biscuit jointery or splines to align the two panels. You can also cut angled blocks (i.e. 69 degrees) so that you can get a clamp on them from the outside. One trick I saw was to use 5 minute epoxy glue and glue a clamp block on. When the panel joints are dry, a sharp wack with a hammer or mallet on the glue block will break it loose, and some sanding/scraping will clean off the epoxy.

There are also belt clamps you can use, though you may need to cut angle blocks and mount them internally to maintain the angle of the joint.

I have built Voigt Pipes and the angle joint for the wood was a simple gluing exercise for me. When glue dries the triangle shape puts force on that area, good force however, that will counter nocks and bangs, without a base the speakers are very stable compared to normal towers. And, again with the angles, my TLs use glue, the side pieces are nailed to the interior walls that make up the waveguide.
