Okay I have a few questions..

1. What is Pitch? ON the FFC cable?

2. What's conductor strand?

3. Does sheilding matter?

4. How do I pick Conductor Size?

I'm going to get my monitor, take it apart, count the # of pins on the FFC cable that's too short and then try to lengthen it. I'm guessing I'm going to need a two way zero insertion pressure connector but there's no pictures and I don't want to get something i dont need... help?

checked www.mouser.com for the electronics...

Pitch is how far apart the wires are. So if you have 20 wires and the ribbon is 20mm wide, you have a pitch of 1mm.

Don't worry about shielding. I'm not sure about conductor strand. I'd have to look it up. Check this out:

That's the Lumen Lab site with the extensions. Here is my setup:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The white ribbon is the FFC extension and the tiny latch the ribbon is connected to is the connector. LL supplies the connector with the ribbon.
