How do comercial USB sound card connect the adc chip via usb?

Just took a few read on the following thread:

I am quite curious how these manufacturer connect the adc chip via usb? As most of the chip mentioned do not have an usb output like typical usb adc.

The DAC and USB chips are connected to USB receiver chip, often combination of a small MCU and USB interface. Usually the connecting lines between the DAC/ADC and the MCU/USB receiver is I2S for data and some standard serial line (I2C, SPI) for control.
