A single post by itself doesn't need to be bad to end up in texas. When a thread is cleaned up, all posts made irrelevant by the offending post will go along with that post. So often, a post without any context due to it referring to a post that is removed will have to go as well.
I hope that helps explain this. So you don't necessarily need to feel that you've done wrong if your post ends up there.

It takes a certain skill to compose such a beast, but the best posts never even make it to texas.

Intentionally posting with comments that are intended to break the rules makes us quite annnoyed and leads us to take away any benefit of doubt that we usually apply to members.
