It is NOT correct if you expect the pot to function as a volume control.
Replace the pot with 2 resistors, about 22K or so, and tie the junction to the - input of an op-amp. The output of the op-amp can go to the filter. After the filter place a volume control.

Use a 5532 op amp with a regulated +15 and -15 volt supply. Take two 15K resistors to the - input of the op amp and provide your hot signal to these resistors from each channel. A 15K from the noninverting input to ground should work ok. Stick a pot from the inverting input to the output of say 50K or so. This will provide anything from less than unity to way more than unity gain for the buffer stage. This will provide the ability to control your low frequency and sum your signal.
Note* May need to check phase of low frequency output.
